We present this remarkable vessel, built in 1991 and launched in 1992 by the Golden Island shipyard in Taiwan. It combines the robust construction typical of Asian fiberglass vessels from that era with lines and performance reminiscent of large American "open" and "flybridge" yachts—so much so that, within the nautical community and industry forums, it is often suggested that the hull or deck design of this specific model is based on a Magnum Marine project or mold (or at least heavily inspired by the famous deep-V hulls of that American brand).
The Golden Island 53 Fly has an overall length of approximately 17.00 meters, including the swim platform, while the registered hull length—as stated on the vessel's documentation—is exactly 15.82 meters.
In 2023, the vessel underwent a major engine refit, replacing the original powerplants with Caterpillar D15 units (860 hp each), which currently have only 240 engine hours. The most recent service and hull maintenance were completed in June 2023; all work carried out over the last five years is fully documented. Furthermore, the onboard electronics are of the latest generation, and all exterior cushions and interior upholstery have been replaced.
With a beam of nearly 5 meters, the interior layout reflects that of large cruising motoryachts from the same period, featuring:
A sleeping area configured with three double cabins—a master cabin forward and two guest cabins (one with twin beds and one with a double bed)—all served by three bathrooms. A cabin with an en-suite bathroom for two crew members (which can serve as a convenient and exceptionally spacious storage compartment if the vessel is used for private purposes—without crew).
Living Area: A large saloon on the main deck featuring a convertible dinette, an opposing galley, and dual helm stations (one inside and one on the flybridge).
Outdoor Spaces: A very spacious aft cockpit and a flybridge, accessible via a staircase and protected by a windshield.
All interior and exterior lighting is LED-based, with the exterior lights controllable remotely via an app. The vessel features an integrated sound system with both interior and exterior speakers, including a selector switch to mute the outdoor units.
The anchor windlass is equipped with both wireless and wired remote controls, accessible from both helm stations. An electro-hydraulic, radio-controlled gangway also functions as a davit for the included tender—an Arimar Flash 220 with a fiberglass hull, powered by a 2.5 hp Mercury outboard motor.
The yacht is equipped with 10 batteries (4 for the engines, 5 for domestic services, and 1 for the generator), all replaced in 2026, supporting both 12V and 24V electrical systems. It also features an 8.5 kW generator and a climate-control system (heating and air conditioning) with independent settings for each area.
Meticulously maintained in every detail by its current (third) owner, the flooring and cabinetry are in excellent condition, as shown in the photographs.
The trim tabs, rudders and bushings, anchor windlass, bow thruster, and stern thruster (all high-power 24V units) were serviced in June 2026. All through-hull fittings were completely replaced in 2021. Equipped with a Danforth anchor, 70 meters of chain, and two spare propellers, this exceptionally comfortable and exciting yacht is "ready to sail" and available immediately. It offers a cruising speed of 28 knots (with a fuel consumption of 200 L/h) and a maximum speed of 38 knots (with a fuel consumption of 300 L/h), promising a rewarding experience for its new owner.
