Motor Yacht Moonen Moonen 70
Moonen 70 (1989) – Extended Moonen 65, Exceptional Swim Platform
There are yachts built for beautiful photographs, and others built for the sea. This Moonen belongs to the second category, without sacrificing any elegance.
Moonen is a Dutch shipyard founded in 1963. It has become a reference for large cruising yachts, renowned for the quality of their construction and their ability to navigate far. This yacht was designed by René van der Velden, with naval architecture signed by Stolk Marimecs. It brings together the best of Dutch expertise: a steel hull, an aluminium superstructure and a displacement hull that offers reassuring seaworthiness and great comfort at sea.
What makes it unique is its stern. Originally a Moonen 65, it was extended aft to become a Moonen 70. It gained an exceptional swim platform, rare on a yacht of this size. It is ideal for swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking, or simply for living close to the water at anchor.
With 8,000 litres of diesel, it cruises at around 9 knots for approximately 40 litres per hour. It is a true cruising yacht, classed Category A, ready for long ocean crossings as well as summer anchorings.
On board, 4 cabins accommodate 8 guests: an owner's cabin with private bathroom, a VIP cabin, a guest cabin, and a crew cabin with its own bathroom. The deck is authentic teak, and the main salon offers beautiful volumes. The yacht is air-conditioned and heated, with water maker and 2015 Onan generator set.
