ASAHI (ex-OCEAN'S SEVEN²) is a 31.80 m aluminium sailing yacht built in 1998 by the French shipyard Trehard, to a design by naval architect Jacques Fauroux. Originally created for an experienced yachtsman and professionally maintained from the outset, this sloop combines sailing performance with the comfort required for extended cruising. Speeds of 15 knots reaching and up to 23 knots surfing downwind have been recorded under sail.

The accommodation is flexible. ASAHI accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 en-suite cabins, each of which can be configured with either twin beds or a king-size bed approximately two metres in length. The two forward cabins can also be combined to create an owner's suite with a central king-size bed, two seating areas and separate his-and-hers bathrooms. Aft, the crew quarters comprise a captain's cabin with a queen-size bed and private bathroom, together with two further cabins, one double and one twin, for a crew of 5.

The interior features light birch woodwork. The main saloon offers a dining area for eight guests, a lounge and entertainment facilities. Air conditioning throughout, upgraded LED lighting and wool carpets installed in 2019 complete the guest accommodation. The fully renovated galley, with marble and briar-root finishes, also benefits from modern appliances and equipment installed during the 2019 refit.

On deck, ASAHI offers generous outdoor living spaces. Her central cockpit is dedicated to relaxation and open-air dining, with a large table accommodating 10 to 12 guests. This social area is separated from the sail-handling equipment. Further aft, the helm cockpit brings together the winches and sailing controls, with direct access to the crew accommodation below. Sunbathing cushions can be arranged on the coachroof, while wide transom steps provide access to the water and the tender.

ASAHI is equipped with carbon-fibre spars by Espace Composite, an Incidence sail wardrobe and hydraulic sail-handling systems. Numerous systems have been renewed since 2010. A major refit carried out in 2019/2020 included a new 380 HP Cummins engine (2019), a 28 kW Kohler generator (2019) and a 27 kW Onan generator (2020), two new watermakers, replacement standing rigging and upgrades to the electrical, navigation and entertainment systems, together with renewal of the interior spaces, furnishings and onboard amenities. Further maintenance was completed in 2022, including a shipyard period in Genoa for new antifouling and anodes.

Her cruising speed is 10 knots. Tank capacities are 5,850 litres of fuel and 1,950 litres of fresh water. ASAHI has a beam of 7.40 m, a draft of 3.70 m and a displacement of 102 tonnes.... » whole text » less text
