Beneteau First 40 “JASON” - Performance Racing Yacht
Beneteau First 40 “JASON” is a highly optimised 2011 performance racing yacht, located in Turkey and offered for EUR 235,000, VAT paid.
This is not a standard First 40. “JASON” is a special racing project developed with Italian yacht designer Alessandro Paganini and sailing designer Flavio Formosa. A custom 2,700 kg T-keel was designed for the yacht, increasing the draft to 2.60 m and improving stability, upwind performance and racing efficiency. The rudder was also modified with increased area and length for more precise handling.
The yacht is equipped with carbon mast, hydraulic mast jack, hydraulic backstay tensioner, carbon steering wheel, carbon spinnaker pole and carbon bowsprit. This setup allows fast and accurate rig tuning for different wind and sea conditions and allows the use of both symmetrical and asymmetric sails in offshore races.
The sail inventory includes carbon semi-battened mainsail from 2021, carbon J1 from 2021, carbon J2 from 2023, Dacron J3 from 2017, S1.5 spinnaker from 2017, S2 spinnaker from 2021, and A1 and A3 gennakers from 2021.
The underwater hull has been faired using special templates and finished with Speedy Carbonium racing antifouling. The exhaust was moved from the side to the stern to reduce drag. All running rigging has been replaced with Gottifredi Maffioli ropes.
The interior has been weight-optimised for racing, with the bow cabin converted into sail storage, bow water tank removed, lockers and doors replaced with lightweight textile solutions, wooden floorboards replaced with lightweight sandwich panels and the gas stove replaced with a lighter alternative.
Comfort has still been kept on board. The yacht has 3 cabins, 1 electric head, new Sunbrella mattresses, Webasto heater, renewed lights and water taps, 150 W inverter and special non-slip cockpit coating.
Electronics were upgraded in 2021 with a full NKE racing package, including racing computer, autopilot, mast repeaters and wind instruments.
“JASON” has MCA Category 2 and ISAF Category 1 safety preparation and can race with a crew of up to 12 people. A rare opportunity to acquire a professionally optimised Beneteau First 40 with serious racing upgrades, carbon equipment and offshore capability.... » whole text » less text
