Feel like the owner of a special 62-foot sailing yacht without having to pay the high purchase costs of a large yacht. I am offering the opportunity to reserve two weeks of sailing in a calendar year, as well as the shared use of my yacht at any time, subject to availability.

The yacht is maintained and cared for by a boatswain, who will also sail with you as skipper/boatswain for a tip if you require assistance.

In return, you only contribute a fixed amount of €12,000 per calendar year to the annual maintenance, repair and upkeep costs.

The S/Y Caledonia was built in Makkum in the Netherlands between 1998 and 2000 according to the wishes of the first owner. The first owner lived on this yacht for 17 years. SY Caledonia proved herself in the rough cold waters (east-west route through the ice across Asia and Europe as well as across Canada) as well as in the Caribbean.
In 1999/2020 I subjected S/Y Caledonia to a major refit, which was completed in spring 2021. The yacht is therefore in good condition.

If I have sparked your interest, I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Boris Quiotek

Other information

Layout
Caledonia was built for an owner who wants to go on a grand voyage or live aboard the yacht. She offers plenty of space and storage for living. The entire teak interior was refurbished and re-stained during the 2019/2020 refit. The ceilings and side panels were painted white.

The interior of SY Caledonia is a brilliant blend of elegance, form and function. Descend the stairs from the cockpit and enter the spacious deckhouse, which is light, bright and welcoming. Large fixed windows line three sides. The two large Lewmar hatches above head provide good ventilation. The large U-shaped seating area to port is upholstered in beige leather (new in 2020). On the starboard side is the inside steering position with interior navigation and electric panels 12 and 24V and a large chart cabinet with built-in Vitrifrigo DRW180A Double Drawer All in ONE freezer-fridge (new 2019). Behind it is the companionway to the engine room and the owner's cabin.

The front staircase from the deckhouse leads to the lower saloon. The lower saloon, which also houses the kitchen with bar, has a seating area with a table that can be converted into a bed/couch (200 x 90), from which you can enjoy either the built-in fireplace or the swivelling LED TV (new in 2019).
The fully equipped kitchen with plenty of space makes cooking a pleasure. It features a Miele DGC 7660 Combi-Steam semi-gimbal oven (new 2019) with a Miele induction hob (new 2019), a Miele G 3820 SCU dishwasher ( new in 2019), a waste compactor, a Vitrifrigo XTP ice maker (new in 2019) and a Vitrifrigo DRW180A double drawer all-in-one freezer fridge (new in 2019). This area is also adequately ventilated with two opening Lewmar deck hatches.

Returning to the deckhouse, you will find five stairs on the starboard side aft leading down past the 230 V electrical switch panel and access to the engine room. On the starboard side of the aisle is a full skipper's berth (200 x 60). The master suite is located aft of this. The master suite with a double and a single bed and an adjoining bathroom (newly built in 2020) with a separate shower offers plenty of space. A highlight is certainly the two-person sauna built in behind the shower. The built-in secretary desk and the safe further enhance the cabin.

The guest cabin in the bow, with access from the lower saloon, has a large double bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower. The bathroom has two doors and is also accessible from the lower saloon.

Both cabins have Lewmar deck hatches that can be opened. Furthermore, continuous ventilation is ensured throughout the entire ship by dorade vents.

The pantry under the deckhouse leads to the yacht's laundry and workshop. The automatic Miele WTF130 WRM washer/dryer (new in 2019) keeps your laundry fresh.

Hull
The hull and deckhouse are constructed of steel. The draft is variable between 2.20 m and 3.70 m due to the hydraulic keel.
During the refit in 2020/2021, all steel plates were inspected and one was replaced. Rust was removed and the exposed steel was re-preserved. The entire yacht (hull, deck, deckhouse, mast and bilges) was then re-painted.
The hull has a solid collision bulkhead between the sail load and the living quarters. Furthermore, the yacht has several compartments (stern garage, aft cabin, engine room and workshop) that can be sealed.
All portholes in the hull have been overhauled and fitted with new seals - all portholes can be opened.

Deck
The deck is well laid out with wide open spaces. There is a bulwark all around. Stainless steel bollards with integrated hawse pipes in the bulwark at the bow, amidships and aft ensure chafe-free guidance of the harbour lines and a good mooring option.
The old teak deck was removed, the deck was re-preserved and a new 10 mm fully glued teak deck was installed (2020). At the same time, all hatches were converted to Lewmar flush Gen 2 hatches (new 2020) and all stainless steel Doraden vents were overhauled and repolished.
The yacht has two bow anchors and one stern anchor. There are two windlasses for the bow anchor, one hydraulic and one electric. A wash-down system is located on the foredeck.
The new foredeck sunpads (2020), upholstered in water-repellent Sunbrella Marine Plus (colour Toast 152), provide space for a good four people to sunbathe. Boat lifting tool
The secure centre cockpit is U-shaped with comfortable seating for 6 people. The fold-out cockpit table can be extended to create a larger table. From here, the yacht can be easily steered and operated under sail without leaving the cockpit. All the upholstery was renewed during the 2020 refit.
Behind the centre cockpit is a bench seat with cushions (2020) for 2 people, which also forms the entrance to the stern garage and the holder for the emergency rudder.

Stern
The transom has a hydraulically folding stern platform that provides access to a large storage space. The stern platform is covered with teak and can be folded out again to extend it. From the stern platform there is a bathing ladder to the water. The storage space is also accessible via two hatches from the deck when the platform is closed.
In addition, there are two hatches at the stern:

- Electric davits for launching a tender weighing up to 300 kg.

- Stern shower
- Gas grill
- Filleting table
- Rod holders for deep-sea fishing rods

Galley
The kitchen is one of SY Caledonia's highlights. It not only offers enough space for cooking, even for two people, but is also easy to use when the boat is tilted.
It offers plenty of storage space, adapted to the plates and cups. The work surface is made of Corean and is easy to clean. Together with the bar, it forms the centre of the lower saloon and invites you to linger and chat.
All kitchen appliances were replaced during the 2019/2020 refit.
